Upcoming Small Business Workshops in Illinois

business startup, Gierach Law Firm, Illinois small business law attorneys, Illinois small business workshops, small business workshops, small businesses, starting a businessThis year, Carbondale’s Illinois Small Business Development Center/International Trade Center (ISBD), located on Southern Illinois’ University of Carbondale campus, will be hosting an assortment of “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshops at different sites throughout the state. At these sessions, instructors will be discussing the essential elements for a business startup in Illinois.

The specific topics that will be covered include business start-up requirements, tips for locating and obtaining financing, the elements required to start a business, and the essentials for planning a new business.

The Upcoming Illinois Business Seminars

From January 13 through July 15, 2015, the ISBD will be holding an assortment of “Starting a Business in Illinois” workshops. By paying a small registration fee, interested parties will be able to attend a workshop and also receive a start-up kit that includes a model small business plan, a business financing packet, a checklist of what is needed to commence business start-up operations, state and federal tax identification forms, and additional tools and resources that will be helpful in starting a new business.

During the workshop attendants will have the chance to present questions to ISBD staff in regards to any small business start-up issues they may be facing. The different workshops that ISBD will be hosting in the winter and spring of 2015 include the following:

  • A workshop will be held on Feb. 18 at Illinois’ Carterville Community Center, located at 120 N. Greenbriar Road in Carterville, Illinois;
  • A workshop will be held on March 19 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, Room 150, located at 1740 Innovation Drive, in Carbondale;
  • A workshop will be held on April 16 at the Murphysboro, Illinois Davis McCann Township Center at 1410 Walnut Street;
  • A workshop will be held on April 30 at the Randolph County Courthouse in Chester, Illinois on 1 Taylor St.;
  • A workshop will be held on May 12 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, Room 150 at 1740 Innovation Drive, in Carbondale, Illinois;
  • A workshop will be held on June 17 at the Marion Chamber of Commerce at 2305 W. Main St. in Marion, Illinois; and
  • A workshop will be held on July 15 in Carbondale, Illinois at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center, Room 150, located at 1740 Innovation Drive.

In addition to hosting the above workshops, the ISBD will also host the “Exporting Your Illinois Food Product” workshop on April 14, 2015 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center in Carbondale, Illinois, for those existing small businesses interested in exporting their food products.
